CEPF Grant supports Transboundary Conservation of Great Bustards in Central Asia

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund will provide support for the project “Transboundary Conservation of the Great Bustard in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.” This work will be conducted by Uzbekistan Society for Protection of Birds (UzSPB) and Biodiversity Research and Conservation (BRCC, Kazakhstan), with oversight from NABU (Germany) and advisement from the Eurasian Bustard Alliance.

This project will focus on the engagement of hunters and communities in conservation at important sites for the Great Bustard in adjacent areas of the two countries.

This work is conducted within CEPF’s “Mountains of Central Asia” Biodiversity Hotspot, pictured above.
