Svetlana Baskakova serves as Chief Director of Operations for Wild Nature. She was born in Moscow, Russia and graduated from the Biological Department of Moscow State Pedagogical University in 1986. Svetlana specialized in ornith9ology under the mentorship of the renowned professors B T But’ev and B M Galushin. After graduation, Svetlana worked in Nuratinskii Zapovednik in Uzbekistan, and Markakol’ Zapovednik in Kazakhstan. In 1995, Svetlana founded “Dikaya Priroda” (“Wild Nature”), which she heads to this day. She has published approximately 30 scientific papers. She is married, with five children.
