On 15 March, the Ornithological Society of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Eurasian Bustard Alliance and the Ornithological Society of the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia (OSME), hosted an online conference on populations of Little Bustard (Tetrax tetrax) in Eurasia.
The event featured speakers Drs Mikhail L’vovich Oparin and Ol’ga Sergeevna Oparina on the Little Bustard’s breeding areas in Russia; Drs Maxim Koshkin and Ruslan Urazaliev, on breeding areas in Kazakhstan; Zulfu Farajli and colleagues on overwintering sites in Azerbaijan; and Louis-Philippe Campeau on breeding areas in northern Kyrgyzstan.
Simultaneous translation between Russian and English was provided. Approximately 100 guests tuned in from across Eurasia, with comments and observations of their own to share.
