Proposals for bustard conservation advance to Convention on Migratory Species

Measures concerning the Great Bustard, Little Bustard, Great Indian Bustard, and Bengal Florican will be discussed at the Conference of Parties to the Convention on Migratory Species in February 2020. The Government of Mongolia, Eurasian Bustard Alliance and Wildlife Science and Conservation Center of Mongolia have proosed an extension of the Concerted Action on Great Bustards in Asia. In addition, proposals to increase the level of protection for Little Bustard, Great Indian Bustard, and Bengal Florican under CMS, and to implement concerted actions for the two latter Critically Endangered species, will be considered by signatory countries. Eurasian Bustard Alliance will work with partners to draw attention to these proposals in a side event at the Conference.
