Dr. Sergey Sklyarenko has worked at ACBK since its founding. He serves as Head of the Center for Conservation Biology and also as Science Director for ACBK. As a professional ornithologist and Candidate of Biological Sciences with twenty years of experience in the Zoology Institute of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he has studied birds, including the Houbara Bustard, all his life. He is also interested in issues of biodiversity conservation, environmental legislation, and the fight against illegal wildlife tracking. He lives in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
